We enjoyed our stay in Hop-Inn Hankow. Location is very strategic and has easy to access to the nearest shopping malls and sites. Though rooms are small, they are clean. Staff very helpful. I think the bed needs changing though, as we really felt the springs against our backs. Over-all, we are happy would would surely return.

Nice room, great location, friendly staff. Amazing common area with cozy roof top. simply buy some drink to sit at the roof top is a great way to relax the day. Small room and clean and privacy is ensured. Hair dryer is upon request.

Staff offered me a single room with window for day 3 and 4 of my stay. On the strength of that 1 paid for 4 days. Now someone else wants the room and I'm being moved to a windowless cubicle. I found another place to stay but they won't refund my money

Hello, we are 1st timer in hong kong and we stayed at Hop Inn Carnarvon for 3night with my 7yrs old son (wyeth). the room is nice and clean, and the girls at the information is very nice they always smile and greet the guest, we even got discounted ticket at the major attractions in HK. My son enjoyed the dvds and soccer table game at the common room. thank you Hop Inn... we enjoy our stay... more power and God bless!

Everything went well... very helpful staff, friendly, superb location & very nice set up of the whole guesthouse. Feels like home. Only experience 1 night which some guest making loud noise but non of the staff came to put down the noise instead I have to wake up & tone them down.

The place was cool with rooftop balcony and common room. I fell ill during my trip to HK but luckily doctor was located right in the same building. I stayed in the room camping with the DVDs that was available for rent. Only complain was that the place was quite hard to locate. There were two 7-11s located and there were no signboards to indicate where is the place. :(

Overdue review. Stayed over for 6 nights at Hopinn Carnarvon. Everything was great, clean, cozy, hippy and location though price I thought is abit high for an hostel style and perhaps pillows could have been better but overall still a fantastic stay and highly recommended!

Friendly staffs, clean amenities, colourful decos that brighten up the rooms, a common area and rooftop terrace..it's like a home! Warm and cozy.. We have already booked the same place for our next trip to HK :) p/s: It will be perfect if there is a mini fridge in the room so we can put our drinks.

We had a great 5-night stay at Hop Inn. We spent most of our time outside so it was not necessary to pay for hotel's facilities that we did not need. Hop Inn was excellent choice with clean amenities and especially very helpful and friendly staffs who spoke good English. Will definitely recommend this hostel to my friends.

I'll never look for any other hostels in HK when I go back. Hop Inn is an awesome: great looking place, spacious rooms (by HK hostels standards), and friendly people. I also like the \"hip and young\" and \"radical\" air brought about by the beautiful graphics on the walls. It's almost perfect if only it had better hot/cold shower valve which would allow guests to more easily adjust water temperature. But aside from that, everything else is great about the place, even the location.

I actually made the effort to put a comment here because I believe you can never find a better hostel in HK than Hop Inn. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Joyce. :) Do not think twice, book a reservation here in Hop Inn right at this very moment!

Our family stayed here for 4 nights. In overall, it's great~! The design and drawings for each room is so amazing. We even take the photo for all the 4 rooms we stay. The service is great. They always with smiling face and ready to help. When my kid is sick, she searching the hospital info for me. when my kid vomit on the floor in the night, the guy at reception is ready with a mop to help us clean the floor. That's all small small stuff but impress us much! Serving with love can really touch our heart. Thanks for all and all. In our next visit, for sure, hop inn! Keep up the good works, guys~! I have stayed in a hostel in Mongkok when I came to HK previously. This time I stayed at Hop Inn and was pleasantly surprised to see a clean room with a comfortable toilet. The staff was also smiley and friendly.. The 2 nights was very worth the price. will stay there again when I visit HK next time and recommend to my friends.

若是住在門禁門旁邊的房間(加拿芬道店)非常的吵雜,旅客有人半夜回來的或是凌晨出門的,進進出出的開門關門聲很大聲,可能需要將門禁的方式改善,否則環境設備真的很棒,但是太吵反而影響休息,會大大的影響整個旅舍的觀感.

Though it was a short 2-night stay, it was a very pleasant experience. Convenient location, about 5-10mins away from the MTR, with food places & 7-11 nearby. I like Hop Inn's common area too, a pity that I didn't fully \"utilize\" it.

Stayed at a triple room at Hop Inn (Hankow) on 8 June for 4 nights. The location is awesome, being so close to the MTR, very convenient. The room is clean and service is good as well. Wifi signal is reliable and strong. For a first time hostel stayer, I'm impressed! Could work on the aircon which can get a little noisy and the pillows could be a little firmer. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will definitely consider Hop Inn for my next visit to Hong Kong! Btw, I love the quirky drawings on the wall!

We got a double room in the Hankow location and stayed there for 3 nights. The room was cozy and comfortable and the decor was nice. Customer service was great and they even offered some suggestions (places to visit, activities, food places) to make our trip even better. As a mature traveller I was initially apprehensive about 'backpacker' style accommodation at the Carnarvon location, even though it was recommended by a friend who knew my standards for creature comforts. Now I recommend it to others. The staff are fabulous; well spoken, upbeat, and always happy to help. The rooms are 'interesting' in their decor but extremely comfortable. The whole environment helped me cope with the dreaded Hong Kong ... hehehehe

Hi Hop Inn..I stayed with u guys on April 18th 2012 for 3 nights. Check in was no hassle n fast. Our room was spotless clean with large windows facing hankow road. The hostel is very strategically placed, when u exit the hotel either u go left or right it will be a 5 minute walk to the nearest MTR. A small problem that you guys should fix is the bell downstairs, we rang the bell twice and nobody came down to open the door so we had to knock for the security to open the door. We ask the receptionist why he hadn't come down, he said the bell sometimes doesn't ring. Overall, I surely will recommend this hostel to friends n relatives and I would definitely stay back here for my next HK visit. Cheers!

Stayed at Hop Inn on Hankow from 31 Mar to 2 Apr. A cosy room with double bed, just enough for 2 petite size girls. We love the paintings on the wall and the free wireless signal is great. Staffs are pleasant and helpful too! It would be great to add more racks/hooks in the bathroom and work on the pillows too (kinda soft). Otherwise, no complaints. Will definitely recommend Hop Inn to my friends!

Spent a few days in Hop Inn, Hankow Road and it was pretty awesome. The rooms are clean and service is good. Though the room I stayed was a bit small for my body size but overall it impressed me. I just hope there are more hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes. Wifi is always available and signal is good. Will recommend my friends to stay in. Lastly keep up the good work!!

I have never stayed in your hostel, but to be honest, your website was so catchy I had to recommend it to my friend who was asking me for leads as to where to stay in hk. The entrance of your hostel is a bit dodgy looking, in my opinion, but if it is as good as it looks like from the website, then it is worth the adventure.

I had a great stay at Hop Inn Hankow last weekend. My trip started off as a quest to look for Hop Inn, as no one on the street seemed to know where it was. I finally found it after letting go of my ego and consulting Google Maps :D It was the perfect place: inexpensive, very accessible, right in front of my favorite dim sum place in HK, clean, quiet and the staff were very helpful and not the least bit intrusive. Your hotel (or hostel as you like to call it) checked all the boxes for me - clean sheets, clean room, ensuite bathroom, drinking water and more importantly, a great location. The room is not large, and the walls are on the thin side but I was glad to have tried it. Some suggestions for the hardworking and friendly team who made it a great experience at the Carnavon branch: - Getting there - please upload the image of the entrance to the building where the Carnavon branch is. Even though it's literally next to a 7-eleven, it still took awhile to find. I also found it easier to alight at Bus-Stop 12 (and walk downhill) than do it at 13 (and trudge upslope). - Room Hooks / Shelves - since there is neither a wardrobe nor a table (which I missed), how about more hooks and shelves along the walls, especially the side outside the bathroom? The small shelf in the bathroom is too narrow for the given towels. - Bathroom Mirror - as the toilet and shower is all in 1 transparent cubicle, the mirror always got fogged up. I simply dabbed some soap on a tissue, wiped the mirror and let dry to address this - your housekeeping can try it too. - Wi-Fi - signal strength wasn't perfect or couldn't connect on certain times. - No bathroom slippers - I brought along my flip-flops as I couldn't be sure whether they were provided. Let your guests know - some of us may not be used to walking barefoot on parquet floors.

[Friendly & Comfortable] Hop-inn has the most friendly people in Hong Kong. The room is rather narrow bed of short, but very clean and good location. Lent an umbrella service was really good. (When it rains...) I had a really comfortable trip. I'll choose to Hop-inn on the next trip.

Stayed 2 nights at Hop Inn last thu n fri and love the place. Very convenient with all the shops around. Room is clean, simple and nice and i like the artwork in the room. The common area and roof top area was an excellent chill out place and I will definedly recommend the place to all my friends. Great location, not too busy street, not a lot of noise and really near the subway. Such a convenient location. The 7/11 and McDonald's also helps for late night snack runs. We'll definitely be back!!!

I have had a good experience to stay in Hop Inn Hostel (30th Sep >>>02nd Oct) at Carnavon & 04th Oct styaed in Hankow side. Both side also a neat & clean rooms. (Hankow side is a bit too small). We really enjoyed our stay at the Hop Inn! The two different rooms we stayed in were so cute! Being artists/designers, we really appreciated the fact that artists contributed to the decor. Has value to stay if you wanna have plesant stay in downtown Hong Kong with reasonable rate. Very clean, the best location in Hong Kong as well as the best staffs. All the staffs are nice and really kind with smile and full hospitality. I appreciate much for all the kind I have had. Security is good, free wi-fi, free PC, free DVDmovie and free water/hotwater server. No telephone but staff may assist it. It's my first time stayed at a hostel. I was so worried about everything before my arrival to HOP INN. But it turned out to a pleasurable experience for me. The room was very small but clean. But what's beyond my expectation was your hospitality and willingness to help. I appreciated every single thing you helped me. I stayed at Venetian the last night before going back to Thailand. The room's perfectly decorated but the service was complete crap! I learned the lesson here that big name couldnt guarantee the best of things. My friends and I stayed in Hop Inn for a week. It is the best hostel I've ever stayed at. It was clean and a safe place to stay.The location is also great, with everything nearby. Great location and convenient for shopping trips. Lots of food choices and near to the supermarket! Bought lots of bento sushi at I Square mall. Laptops available for surfing makes the trip much easier to plan. Expect very small room and bathroom. The bed is the hard type though. Otherwise no complains. Value for money!!!

I believe that Hop-Inn is the great place for any budget travelers but, unfortunately, I have no chance to experience it myself. Only one thing I'm disappointed is a reservation organization. It took me more than 2 days for getting response. I called there to confirm the room availability and yes it was. When I got replied email 2 days later, I immediately confirm my booking. I couldn't book the wish room anymore, though, coz other guest's already booked that room. Your response was too slow that make my booking failed. That's only my complaint. I would think again if I should recommend here to my friends even if your place is ideal for us.

Hop Inn exceeded our expectations. They clean your room and toilet everyday (like the service you get in a hotel!) I have stayed in several hostels in other countries but Hop Inn is on top of my list. Highly recommended! Location: close to everything (check the map and you would see) Staff: sincere and always greet you with a smile; speaks English verrrryyyy well (ask them about anything and they would gladly give you answers). Room: by HK standards, size is definitely value for your money; AC is quiet and cool Bed: does not create a sound when you move, really nice! very clean linens CR: well maintained; water supply is never a problem WIFI: FREE 24/7!!! and you could borrow one of their laptops at no extra cost! Would never stay in any other place in HK.

Wouldn't book again.Very unhappy with Hop Inn. Booked a room for three in March got a confirmation letter for booking, then in Sept I contacted them to change from 3 beds to two (thinking i was doing the right thing) to get told they had received no booking for our stay in Nov, then contracted themselves to say that some one else booked the room before us. Had I of not contacted them I would of arrived in Hong Kong to no room. Very poor way to run a business.

We love Hop-inn, and you'll love it too. The staff is awesome and they can help you go around Hongkong, and their recommendations for food, shopping and transportation are very helpful. I stayed at Hop Inn from the 20th-23rd May 2010 and had a great time. Great location, you can pretty much walk anywhere you need to go. The staff are all FANTASTIC, helping with directions, giving advice on things to see and do and continually checking to see if there is anything else they can do to make your stay more comfortable. I also travelled alone, which i was concerned about originally, but i felt safe at all times in the area and especially at Hop Inn. The rooms are pretty small, but excellent value for money and extremely clean and modern, which is all you need when your out exploring most of the day anyway! Would definately recommend it and will stay here again next time i visit Hong Kong.

We're glad we chose the Hop Inn for our second visit to Hong Kong. The room was small, but that didn't stop it from being comfortable. It's a great example of making the most out of the space available, which the other hostels in the Tsim Sha Tsui area could learn from. We stayed for 3 nights, and couldn't have been more comfortable. The location is also fantastic. And the staff was so helpful! We really appreciated the tips, especially the one about the free Airport Express shuttle down the corner. It saved us a lot of trouble. We will definitely be staying at the Hop Inn from now on, every time we visit Hong Kong. See you next year!

We stayed in 2 different rooms for our 6 days stay in HK. I would prefer the triple room as it has more space compared to the double room. The whole place makes me feel very cosy and homely and the host were all very good! They gave recommendations and directions to the places we wanted to go. You can borrow laptop for internet surfing and there are many vcds to watch. We will definitely come back!

We stayed 4 nights at Hop Inn and we absolutely loved it! The rooms are cleaned everyday and service was great. The staff were a friendly bunch, which made us feel quite at home. Loved the free drinking water & since hk food are mostly oily food, bringing your own water out was important. Location, needless to say, was awesome. It was easy to navigate around the island with the MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui. After checking out, they allowed us to leave our luggages with them while we did our last min shopping before our night flight. Probably the only minor complaint was the small room space. But hey, it's HK & for the price we're paying, I think that's something we could overlook:) can't wait to return to hk (& hop inn) for more shopping!

We recently stayed in a triple ensuite room at the Hop Inn 27-30 April. Excellent hosts - so friendly and full of great advice. The rooms very clean and comfortable -a little small but it's Hong Kong and location was excellent - walking distance to everything. Thanks for the great time in HK boys.

We really enjoyed staying at the Hop Inn. The location is great, very short walk to the harbour and the MTR. The rooms are small (but standard for HK), but decoration is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget.

With limited budget, Hop Inn is one of the best place in Kowloon. Location is just closed to train station, and the river (ease to reach Avenue of Star, Symphony of Light and Harbour City). The building area is good atmostphere. Hop Inn is a good choice! I already noted new room no I will stay next time!

My friends and I loved the room we stayed in. The balloons are really nice especially when you turn off the lights. It was a very wonderful place to rest after long walks of exploring. A very conducive place for sleep. Simon and Wilson are really nice and helpful too. If I ever get the chance to visit HK again, I'd love to go back and stay at Hop Inn. I'd do it in a heartbeat. :) (stayed there march 2010)

When I saw the website of Hop Inn I decide to book my stay here because of the room design and the reviews. I was not disappointed. My stay in Hop Inn was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious enough. Great value for the money. Clean towels were provided and the room was cleaned every day. Another thing I appreciated is you can borrow a laptop from them and this comes without charge. The location was great. It was very accessible since it’s near the TST MTR Station and you have the shopping district around you and you’re just a few blocks away from the Avenue of Stars, The Clock Tower and Harbour City where you can watch the Symphony of Lights.

Hop Inn is THE hostel to stay in when in HK. Location is perfect (close to MTR, close to the famous Guangdong Restaurant, and close to the posh malls), rooms are clean, hosts (Wilson and Simon) are very nice and accommodating, price is just right. In-room wi-fi and their service laptop makes it easy to communicate back with my friends and family every day. If hostels are to have Michelin stars, I'll give Hop Inn 5 stars!

Probably the hostel most central located in Hong Kong. Three minutes walk from the TST subway station, five minutes from the harbour and star ferries. The staff were excellent, I lost a plastic bag with gifts which they put a lot of effort to try to find again. They also had humor at the same time as they helped if you wanted to have ideas of what to do or where to go. Only negative point might be that it is quite hard to find the first time at arrival. It is opposite to the HMV, but just by a narrow stairway. Give my best recommendations to this hostel!

Loved staying at Hop Inn. Clean and fresh with all facilities working. Loved the room designs... stayed twice so got to experience the balloons and the butterflies. Simon and Wilson very friendly and helpful. My suggestion would be that some shelves and hooks would be useful for easier organising of limited space. Also I learned that you need to look up in Hong Kong to find the big sign for Hop Inn... the 2 inch square sign on the door bell very difficult to spot on a very busy street. Location is great. Thanks guys... it was fabulous.

I stayed 2 nights and loved HOP INN very much. I don't wanna call HOP INN as a hostel, because when I think of a typical hostel, it's filled with many 2-story beds and shared bathroom, not very clean. HOP INN is more like a budget hotel with clean and convenient rooms. Each room was designed and created by the local artists (as it is written and truly it was). I've visited many hostels all over the world and HOP INN hostel was the best one. I strongly recommend anyone to stay there if he/she is going to visit Hong Kong, regardless he/she is going alone or with friends. 한국분들께) 홍콩의 어느 호스텔도 이보다 깨끗하고 조용하기 힘들 것 같습니다. 공간도 괜찮았구요. 총 방의 수가 적어서 관리가 잘 되는 것 같습니다. 워낙 홍콩의 호스텔들이 작아서, 엄청 큰 방을 기대하시긴 어렵지만, 다른 호스텔에 비해서 깨끗하고, 서비스가 좋은 것 같습니다. 각방에 티비랑, 에어컨이 있어서 한국의 모텔 같네요- 추천합니다. 가격도 괜찮아요~

Simon & Wilson are great hosts in this their new venture. Hop Inn is a cosy little guesthouse with comfortable beds, a great shower, clean bathrooms and surrounds even if its a little tight as all Hong Kong & Kowloon is. The location is unbeatable as its right on Hankow Road which is bustling with commercial retail activity during the day and quiet at night. The MTR and TST Ferry Crossing Terminal are just 10 minutes walk away at most. Just round the corner and one street parallel and far away enough is Ashley Road where pubs, bistros, restaurants are aplenty. Great job Simon & Wilson, if you ever need a partner to expand the business drop us a line ;-). Thanks for your hospitality.

Just got back home from my first visit to HK. I stayed in Hop Inn for a week and there's not much to say except that it was MORE than I expected and could ask for in a guest house. Simon & Wilson's service was remarkable, the room was comfy, well set and clean, the wifi connection was great and most importantly the location was spot on in the heart of TST's action. Though my trip was a short one, I really enjoy staying in Hop Inn, the traffic is convinient, it's located in CBD area, and the most important thing is I feel safe ,pleasant and clean while taking rest in the hostel ;)
